Job Title: Immigration Attorney – Bilingual Preferred

Job Overview:

A respected law firm based in Kenner, LA, is actively seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney through a legal recruiting partner. This full-time, in-office position offers a unique opportunity to assist individuals and families navigating the complexities of immigration law. The ideal candidate will bring both litigation experience and cultural sensitivity to a client-focused practice rooted in advocacy and justice.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings before administrative agencies and courts

  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and motions

  • Draft and file petitions, briefs, and other legal documents related to immigration cases

  • Provide consultations and legal advice to clients on immigration matters

  • Attend interviews and hearings with clients as needed

  • Maintain case files and ensure compliance with relevant procedural requirements

  • Work collaboratively with legal assistants, paralegals, and team members to move cases forward efficiently

Requirements:

  • Admitted to practice law with an active Bar license in good standing

  • Experience handling immigration cases, including court appearances

  • Demonstrated understanding of removal defense and family-based immigration processes

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active state Bar membership (any U.S. jurisdiction)

Skills:

  • Legal research and writing proficiency

  • Oral advocacy and courtroom presentation abilities

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Fluent or proficient Spanish communication (verbal and written) is a strong asset

  • Cultural competency when interacting with diverse client populations
