Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Associate to join its Business, Property, and Construction Law Practice Group in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced attorneys to address the diverse legal needs of California public school districts.

Duties

  • Provide guidance on compliance with laws and regulatory processes, including CEQA and DTSC.
  • Assist clients with construction delivery methods, land acquisition, and developer fees.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including construction contracts and leases.
  • Support litigation tasks, including discovery, legal research, and document review.
  • Conduct research and legal analysis of pertinent laws and perform legislative analysis.
  • Prepare board resolutions, agenda items, and other legal documents.
  • Identify legal issues, develop strategies, and recommend solutions for clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of legal experience in business, real property, or construction matters.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and initiative to work on a variety of legal matters.
  • Commitment to exceptional client service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Litigation experience preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
