Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in insurance coverage and/or general litigation. This role offers hands-on experience in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception to trial, with direct client contact. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, with additional licensure in other New England states considered a plus.

Duties

  • Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
  • Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
  • Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of practice experience in insurance coverage and/or general litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts.
  • Licensure in other New England states is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and work autonomously and within a team structure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Initiative and the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Massachusetts.
