Job Overview:
A law firm based in Albuquerque, NM, seeks a seasoned litigator to join its elite personal injury practice group. This position focuses on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases requiring high-level legal strategy, meticulous case development, and courtroom readiness. Duties:

• Manage a reduced caseload of complex personal injury matters involving brain trauma, spinal injuries, amputations, burns, and fatalities

• Craft litigation strategies through rigorous legal research, expert interviews, and comprehensive fact development

• Collaborate on discovery plans, draft motions, and conduct key depositions with support from a senior trial mentor

• Prepare for and participate in negotiations, mediations, hearings, and trials

• Maintain consistent and empathetic communication with clients facing life-altering injuries

• Contribute to legal team discussions, sharing insights and developing innovative legal tactics

• Identify and engage leading expert witnesses to strengthen the evidentiary foundation of each case

• Oversee drafting of persuasive pleadings and trial materials that reflect deep factual and legal analysis

Requirements:

• Active Bar license and a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience

• Prior exposure to high-severity personal injury, medical malpractice, or product liability cases

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads and maintain attention to detail under pressure

• Willingness to collaborate with senior counsel on trial preparation and high-stakes legal work

• Strong courtroom presence and ability to navigate contested proceedings effectively

• High level of emotional intelligence and client-centered advocacy skills

• Track record of identifying creative legal arguments and building comprehensive litigation frameworks

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the state of New Mexico or eligibility for prompt licensure

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy

• Deep knowledge of tort law, civil procedure, and rules of evidence
