Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on managing multiple cases, preparing for trial, and providing excellent client service. This is a full-time position with opportunities for mentorship and professional development in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Location:

  • Houston, TX

Duties:

  • Manage multiple litigation cases simultaneously, including pretrial discovery.

  • Take depositions and prepare motions and briefs.

  • Draft detailed reports to clients regarding case progress.

  • Participate in mediation and settlement negotiations.

  • Prepare for and represent clients in trial proceedings.

  • Maintain billable hours as part of the firm’s practice.

  • Work closely with senior attorneys for mentorship and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience.

  • Strong understanding of pretrial discovery processes.

  • Ability to take depositions and draft motions/briefs.

  • Familiarity with a billable hours practice.

  • Willingness to work on-site and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Experience in personal injury, products liability, construction, wrongful death, insurance defense, commercial, or automotive/trucking accident litigation is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

  • Strong client management and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with mediation and trial preparation.
