Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a meticulous and driven Associate Attorney to contribute to its family law practice. This role is ideal for a legal professional with experience managing sensitive matters involving complex financial assets and custody disputes. The position involves direct client engagement, strategic litigation support, and the opportunity to work on high-profile cases alongside veteran attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Prepare and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and case analysis

  • Collaborate with partners, paralegals, and litigation support teams on case strategy

  • Participate in client meetings and court appearances

  • Handle sensitive issues with discretion and uphold client confidentiality

  • Support the coordination of expert witnesses, including custody evaluators and forensic professionals

  • Contribute to trial preparation and litigation efforts

Requirements:

  • Active membership with the State Bar of California, in good standing

  • 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in family law litigation

  • Prior exposure to complex custody and asset division cases

  • Ability to communicate effectively with high-net-worth and high-profile clients

  • Demonstrated skills in legal writing and oral advocacy

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines under pressure

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a law school accredited by the ABA

Certifications:

  • California State Bar admission is required

Skills:

  • Precision in drafting legal documents

  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical capabilities

  • Professional demeanor in emotionally charged situations

  • Strong time management and organizational competence

  • Experience working with expert consultants is a plus

  • Litigation or courtroom participation experience is desirable
