Litigation Associate - Trial and Defense

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate with 2-5 years of experience to join their office in Irvine, California. This role involves representing both international and domestic clients in commercial disputes, sensitive investigations, and government inquiries, with a focus on shipping and trade-related matters.

Duties

• Prepare pleadings and briefs.
• Draft correspondence to colleagues and clients.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations as required.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw.
• Draft interrogatories and document demands.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in California; additional admissions are a plus.
• Federal court and maritime experience preferred but not required.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.
• Bilingual in Korean is a plus but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
