Property Insurance Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading law firm is looking to hire an Associate Property Insurance Attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience for their Chicago office. The ideal candidate should have experience in insurance defense or insurance coverage, focusing on first-party insurance disputes. This position requires strong skills in drafting coverage opinions, litigating insurance coverage, and bad faith cases. The attorney will manage cases independently and develop relationships with existing clients while participating in various legal proceedings. Travel opportunities may be available.

Location:

Duties:

• Draft coverage opinions and litigate insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
• Manage cases including drafting motions, handling discovery requests, and taking depositions.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and other legal proceedings.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents related to insurance disputes.
• Participate in case strategy discussions and contribute to legal team efforts.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense or insurance coverage.
• Proven experience in handling first-party insurance disputes.
• Experience drafting coverage opinions and litigating insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
• Strong case management skills, including drafting motions, discovery handling, and depositions.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Illinois Bar admission is required.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Illinois Bar admission required.
