Job Overview:
A respected civil litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its St. Petersburg office. This full-time role is suited for attorneys with 0–2 years of experience who are eager to build a litigation career. The position offers hands-on involvement in case strategy, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation within a supportive and collaborative environment. The firm’s litigation practice spans a variety of defense areas including premises liability, property claims, construction defects, and insurance law.

Location:

  • St. Petersburg, FL

Duties:

  • Manage and assist with civil litigation defense matters from inception to resolution

  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations

  • Participate in trial preparation and support lead counsel at trial

  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel

  • Develop case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys

Requirements:

  • 0–2 years of civil litigation experience (defense experience preferred)

  • Familiarity with relevant Florida statutes and civil procedure

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced caseload and meet deadlines

  • Desire for long-term professional growth within a litigation practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida and in good standing

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Effective communication and courtroom presence

  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills

  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
