Job Overview:
A reputable Central Texas law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with an interest or background in elder law, estate planning, probate, and guardianship to join its Waco office. Location:

  • Waco, Texas

Duties:

  • Handle matters related to elder law, Medicaid planning, estate planning, guardianships, and probate

  • Conduct legal research and draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate documents

  • Represent clients in probate and guardianship proceedings

  • Meet with clients to assess legal needs, explain legal strategies, and manage expectations

  • Work collaboratively with team members while also independently managing caseload

  • Provide compassionate counsel to elderly clients and their families

  • Assist in growing a developing office through client service and community engagement

Requirements:

  • 1–10 years of relevant legal experience preferred (all levels encouraged to apply)

  • Previous experience in elder law, probate, or estate planning is a plus but not required

  • Self-starter who is highly motivated and client-focused

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage a growing caseload

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas

Skills:

  • Professional legal writing and research abilities

  • Strong grammar and document drafting skills

  • Comfort and compassion when working with elderly or vulnerable clients

  • Team player with a willingness to grow within a startup-style office environment
