Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury cases to join their team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will manage cases from inception to settlement, providing exceptional client service and maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Duties

  • Manage a heavy case load and all phases of personal injury cases.
  • Conduct thorough case investigations to determine liability and damages.
  • Draft and file legal documents for litigation, discovery disputes, and motions.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
  • Provide exceptional client service, keeping clients informed about case progress.
  • First chair civil jury trials.

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in good standing, eligible to practice law in Illinois.
  • Personal injury experience preferred, but not required.
  • Solid knowledge of Illinois state laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret statutes and case law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage cases effectively and represent clients with professionalism.
  • Experience conducting legal research and preparing briefs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
