Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate with 2+ years of commercial litigation experience to join its Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate will have federal clerkship experience and be eager to work in a collaborative environment where mentorship is valued.

Duties

  • Develop litigation strategies for complex commercial and business-tort litigation.
  • Advise clients across various industries in litigation matters.
  • Draft briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze evidence.
  • Participate in witness interviews and client meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Assist partners and senior lawyers with legal services.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the Texas bar or eligible for admission.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation.
  • Federal court judicial clerkship preferred.
  • Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Texas bar or ability to become admitted.
