Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Tampa, FL, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Defense Associate to join their litigation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in civil litigation, with a preference for expertise in construction or insurance defense matters. This position allows for remote work with the responsibility of managing cases through all phases of litigation with minimal supervision. Duties:

• Manage all stages of civil litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases
• Represent clients in construction and insurance defense cases
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents
• Appear in court for hearings, depositions, and trials
• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients
• Conduct legal research and provide detailed analysis of case law
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development
• Handle client communications and maintain professional relationships

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in insurance or construction defense
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and handle a caseload with minimal supervision
• Excellent analytical and research skills
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality work
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Must be licensed to practice law in Florida

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw
• Strong drafting skills for pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Experience with courtroom procedures and litigation strategy
• Effective communication and negotiation abilities
