Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney for a hybrid position located in Southfield, MI. This position offers the opportunity to work on various aspects of civil/commercial litigation, including professional liability, employment litigation, and general liability defense. The ideal candidate will have strong research and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.

Location:

  • Southfield, MI

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of civil/commercial litigation
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis
  • Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Advise and counsel clients on litigation strategies and legal issues
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Work independently and manage a caseload efficiently

Requirements:

  • Licensed attorney in the State of Michigan
  • Experience in commercial litigation, employment litigation, and/or professional liability litigation
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and manage multiple tasks
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Bar license (required)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload
  • Proficiency in Westlaw and other legal research tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
