Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time litigation associate attorney with two to four years of experience to join their team in fiduciary duty litigation, contested guardianships/conservatorships, and various business disputes in Virginia. The role involves working closely with the litigation section chief, junior associate, and senior paralegal to handle tasks such as legal research, drafting documents, and making court appearances.

Duties

  • Serve as the primary attorney contact for litigation matters.
  • Meet potential clients to assess case suitability and conflicts of interest.
  • Provide litigation support, including motions and trial practice in state and federal courts.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to meet deadlines.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and team members promptly.
  • Engage in professional development appropriate to experience level.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar; Maryland and District of Columbia Bar admission is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members.
  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to quality and critical thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
