Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Foreclosure and Litigation Associate in Clackamas. This role requires critical thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will handle various aspects of the legal process related to secured lending, including civil litigation, title litigation, and potential bankruptcy matters. Duties

  • Conduct initial intake and analysis on files, generating strategy and budget within 24 hours.
  • Draft civil litigation documents, including discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Review chain of title, pleadings, and foreclosure documents.
  • Make court appearances across Oregon and potentially Washington.
  • Provide same-day client updates and field questions from staff.
  • Write, review, and edit reports and correspondence for compliance purposes.

Requirements

  • Active membership in the OR State Bar, with preference for WA State Bar membership.
  • 2+ years of related experience in the mortgage area preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the OR State Bar.

Skills

  • Ability to work remotely and in-office efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools like WestLaw or LexisNexis.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
