Job Overview:
A well-established and growing immigration law firm in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area is seeking a qualified Immigration Attorney with experience in asylum and removal defense. This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead a caseload, supervise staff, and advocate for clients before DHS, DOS, and EOIR. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, legally astute, and committed to client service within immigration law.

Location:

  • Columbus, Ohio

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters with a focus on asylum and removal defense

  • Supervise and train legal support staff and paralegals

  • Prepare and submit filings to DHS, DOS, and EOIR

  • Draft and revise legal documents, including court pleadings and memoranda

  • Conduct legal research and write motions and briefs

  • Appear at interviews, court hearings, and trials

  • Stay informed on changes in immigration law, policy, and judicial rulings

  • Support firm outreach efforts and help promote legal services

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration law, especially in asylum and removal defense

  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Must be able to start immediately or within 4 weeks

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active admission to the Ohio State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing proficiency

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Effective time and project management abilities

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Collaborative team player with leadership capabilities
