A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney specializing in Personal Injury to join their team in New Kent, VA. The role involves managing personal injury cases from initiation to settlement, supported by a team of skilled professionals. The attorney will handle all phases of the pre-litigation process, including investigation, deadline management, and negotiation.

Duties

• Represent personal injury clients through all pre-litigation phases.
• Manage personal injury case files from start to settlement.
• Review incident summaries and assess cases for serious injury.
• Conduct monthly file reviews and assess case values.
• Draft and review legal documents, including claims and motions.
• Meet all pre-litigation and litigation filing deadlines.
• Communicate with clients, witnesses, and insurance adjusters.
• Negotiate agreements and settle on clients' behalf.
• Review liens and expenses before settlement disbursement.
• Represent clients at mediations and hearings.

Requirements

• High level of interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Effective communication with clients, courts, and insurance providers.
• Understanding of medical terminology and personal injury law.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work autonomously and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong deductive reasoning and decision-making skills.

Education

• Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

• Membership in the State Bar Association and a state license to practice law.
