Job Overview

A respected mid-sized law firm is seeking a Lead Litigation Attorney to join its civil litigation practice focused on real estate and business law. This position, based in Coeur d’Alene, ID, offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to a collaborative team dedicated to high-quality client service and community impact. Ideal candidates will have over four years of litigation experience, including courtroom and deposition work, and be ready to take on a leadership role in a growing practice.

Duties

  • Lead and manage real estate and business litigation matters from inception to resolution

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials

  • Collaborate with other attorneys on case strategy and trial preparation

  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff as needed

  • Engage in client meetings, providing legal advice and updates

  • Contribute to firm initiatives, including legal education and community engagement

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of active civil litigation experience

  • Proven courtroom and deposition experience

  • Ability to independently manage complex legal matters

  • Experience mentoring or supervising other attorneys is a plus

  • Detail-oriented with strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Must be licensed to practice in Washington and/or Idaho

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Washington and/or Idaho (required)

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

  • Excellent oral advocacy and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
