Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Settlement Review Associate Attorney, Workers' Compensation, to join their team in Burbank, CA. This remote position requires a California State Bar membership and involves managing compromise and release agreements within the workers' compensation practice area.

Duties

  • Prepare, review, and edit Compromise & Release agreements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Audit supporting materials to verify settlement figures and terms.
  • Ensure documents meet WCAB and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Maintain organized settlement files and complete documentation.
  • Evaluate case facts for settlement readiness and identify issues.
  • Analyze medical and indemnity exposure to align settlement terms with case values.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal teams on C&R matters.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with attorneys to finalize terms and execute settlement strategy.
  • Prepare and submit settlement packets to the WCAB for approval.
  • Track submissions and manage follow-up processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure documents adhere to legal standards and firm protocols.
  • Provide feedback and implement workflow improvements.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 1-3+ years of legal experience; prior experience in workers' compensation preferred.
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and document management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications
