Job Title: Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A Chicago-based family law firm is partnering with a legal recruitment agency to find a driven and seasoned attorney skilled in family law, particularly in handling financial and parenting disputes. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and prepared to take ownership of a robust caseload. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team with flexibility to work both remotely and in-office, while contributing to meaningful litigation in a supportive and socially engaged work environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in litigation concerning financial division and child-related matters

  • Manage a high-volume caseload independently with minimal supervision

  • Collaborate with other attorneys on drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

  • Support court-appointed roles such as Guardian ad Litem or Parenting Coordinator when needed

  • Conduct discovery, pre-trial preparation, and participate in hearings and trials

  • Participate in firm-wide projects and case strategy discussions

  • Maintain accurate case documentation and client communications

Requirements:

  • Experience in family law, with courtroom exposure

  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters involving custody and asset distribution

  • Strong research, writing, and litigation skills

  • Demonstrated capacity for independent case handling

  • Commitment to deadlines and responsiveness to client needs

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Illinois family law statutes and procedures

  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation ability

  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism in sensitive client interactions

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Comfortable with both in-office collaboration and remote workflow tools
