Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm with offices in Rockville, MD, seeks a licensed attorney with demonstrated experience in immigration law to join its legal team. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned professional adept in removal defense, family- and employment-based immigration processes, and proceedings before federal agencies. The role requires courtroom readiness, strategic drafting capabilities, and a strong sense of urgency to manage a high-volume caseload.

Duties:

• Draft and file applications and petitions related to family- and employment-based immigration.

• Represent clients in hearings before the Immigration Court, as well as interviews and appearances before USCIS, ICE, and CBP.

• Handle a broad array of immigration matters, including:

  • Immigrant and non-immigrant visa applications

  • Adjustment of status and naturalization processes

  • TPS, NACARA, and asylum claims

  • Waiver submissions and appeals to the BIA

  • PERM labor certifications and H-1B petitions

  • EB-5 investor visa filings

  • Motions to reopen or reconsider adverse rulings

• Monitor deadlines, ensure timely filings, and manage evolving case strategies.

• Maintain accurate documentation and client communications via specialized immigration case management software.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience practicing immigration law.

• Proven advocacy in removal defense and family/employment-based immigration procedures.

• Ability to handle complex casework independently while managing priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.

• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.

• Meticulous proofreading and self-editing abilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar license in Maryland or Virginia (Required).

Skills:

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a strong plus.

• Competent with immigration-specific legal platforms and databases.

• Exceptional time management and organizational acumen.

• Collaborative yet self-directed approach to case handling.
