Senior Associate - Trial and Defense (Labor and Employment)

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a senior associate attorney with 5-8 years of experience in labor and employment to join their trial and defense practice in Los Angeles. This role involves handling high-exposure employment disputes, including discrimination, retaliation, and reasonable accommodation cases.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies
• Assess and respond to complaints in State and Federal court
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Review and analyze documents for production
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and submit pleadings and motions
• Attend hearings and argue motions
• Prepare pre-trial and trial documents
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate in mediation/trial
• Report effectively to clients

Requirements

• Labor and employment litigation experience required
• Admission to the bar in California
• Extensive experience in all aspects of litigation
• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
• Effective oral advocacy skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly

Education

• Excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school
