Duties

  • Represent clients in civil and criminal tax disputes at administrative levels and in court

  • Handle IRS audits, appeals, and collection matters

  • Engage with federal, California, and local taxing authorities

  • Develop litigation strategies and manage case progression

  • Prepare and review legal documents related to tax controversy

  • Advise clients on potential outcomes and negotiate favorable resolutions

  • Support the firm’s broader tax and estate planning teams as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of several years of hands-on experience in tax controversy matters

  • Proven success in dealing with IRS and state taxing authorities

  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-stakes client representation

  • Commitment to maintaining a collaborative and collegial work environment

  • Availability for full-time, in-office work

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and good standing membership with the California Bar
