Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Austin, TX, is currently seeking a dedicated Litigation Associate to join their team. The ideal candidate will take on responsibilities related to legal research, drafting motions, and depositions, and managing court appearances within the field of commercial and construction litigation. This full-time, in-office position provides a great opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow professionally while contributing to a dynamic legal environment.

Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on a variety of litigation matters
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for and conduct depositions
  • Represent clients in court hearings and appearances
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy and client communications
  • Manage case files and ensure all relevant documents are organized and up-to-date
  • Participate in settlement discussions and provide legal advice to clients when necessary
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals to ensure seamless execution of cases

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Strong legal knowledge of litigation processes and court procedures
  • Proven experience in legal research and preparing motions or briefs
  • Skilled in deposition preparation and execution
  • Familiarity with court systems and legal protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience with construction law is beneficial
  • 2-4 years of litigation experience is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis
  • Legal writing and document preparation
  • Deposition and court appearance preparation
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Time management and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Knowledge of commercial and construction litigation is a plus
