A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its team in Honolulu, HI. This position is perfect for an attorney with 3-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in trust and estate law, conservatorships, estate planning, and related areas. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing cases independently while contributing to the firm’s commitment to providing exceptional legal services.

Duties

  • Draft legal documents, including motions and pleadings, to support litigation efforts.
  • Manage the discovery process, including written and oral discovery, and conduct depositions.
  • File documents using legal filing systems such as JEFS and PACER.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research utilizing platforms like Lexis.
  • Make court appearances and represent clients in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Conduct initial consultations with potential clients to assess their legal needs.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Hawaii.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in trust and estate law, conservatorships, and estate planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Hawaii (Hawaii Bar).
