Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a Transactional Real Estate Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join its Richmond, VA office. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, title opinions, and financing agreements. The position will also involve advising clients on real estate matters such as due diligence, zoning, environmental, financing, and tax issues.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various real estate contracts and documents such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, and financing agreements.

  • Provide legal advice on real estate matters, including due diligence, zoning, environmental, and tax issues.

  • Prepare title opinions and closing statements.

  • Work closely with clients to develop strategies and solutions for real estate transactions.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters.

  • Assist with other real estate-related legal tasks as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in transactional real estate law.

  • Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts.

  • Familiarity with due diligence, zoning, environmental, financing, and tax issues in real estate transactions.

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar (or eligibility to become licensed in Virginia).

Skills

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of real estate law, including relevant regulations and legal issues.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
