Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A respected law firm based in Metairie, Louisiana, is actively seeking a dedicated Litigation Associate with 3 to 5 years of litigation experience, preferably with a background in workers' compensation matters. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal team handling complex cases and provides a clear path toward partnership consideration. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong case management skills, persuasive legal writing abilities, and a confident courtroom presence.

Duties:

  • Manage litigation files from initial intake through resolution

  • Conduct depositions and represent clients in court proceedings

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

  • Perform legal research and provide case strategy support

  • Prepare for and assist in trials and hearings

  • Monitor and report on case developments and deadlines

  • Track billable hours accurately and timely manner

  • Collaborate with team members and clients in a professional, responsive manner

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience

  • Background in workers' compensation defense preferred

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Louisiana

  • Familiarity with courtroom procedures and motion practice

  • Able to work on-site during standard business hours (Monday–Friday)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

  • Strong legal writing and analytical abilities

  • Effective time and case management

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
