A respected law firm based in downtown Saint Louis is seeking a motivated attorney to join its workers’ compensation defense practice. This opportunity is ideal for a licensed attorney in Missouri with a keen interest in advocating for clients in a litigation setting. The role offers valuable experience in managing claims, interacting with clients and experts, and appearing before administrative and judicial forums.

Duties:

• Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation cases

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs

• Appear before administrative law judges for hearings and conferences

• Take depositions of claimants, physicians, and other experts

• Review medical records and evaluate case value and risk

• Collaborate with claims representatives and corporate clients to develop a litigation strategy

• Maintain timely communication with clients regarding case progress and recommendations

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Missouri

• 0–5 years of legal experience (workers’ compensation experience preferred, but not required)

• Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills

• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail

• Familiarity with Missouri workers’ compensation laws and procedures

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Missouri State Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

• Organizational skills to manage deadlines and priorities
