Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their team in Richardson, TX. The role requires managing a diverse caseload with a focus on family-based immigration and removal defense. Duties

  • Represent clients in immigration court proceedings and before the BIA.
  • Conduct client intake and develop comprehensive case plans.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and applications for relief.
  • Attend hearings and liaise with expert witnesses and community partners.
  • Stay informed on changes in immigration law and policy.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Travel for USCIS interviews, ICE visits, or out-of-state hearings.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of immigration law experience, focusing on family-based petitions and removal defense.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the Texas Bar.

Skills

  • Excellence in legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and courtroom presentation.
  • Proficiency with legal case management systems preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competence.
