Family Law Attorney - Remote

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their remote team in Washington, United States. This role focuses on complex family law matters, including litigation and collaborative law. The successful candidate will manage multiple clients, provide legal counsel, and represent clients in court and negotiations.

Duties

• Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients about their legal needs.
• Respond promptly to client emails and calls.
• Inform clients of legal options to empower them to meet their goals.
• Represent clients in court, mediation, arbitration, and trial.
• Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients.
• Negotiate settlements professionally while balancing client goals.
• Comply with legal standards and professional responsibility rules.
• Maintain case files and update clients regularly.
• Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
• Consult with prospective new clients and build community relationships.
• Travel as required for court hearings and client meetings.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Family Law in Washington.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Estate Planning Law in Washington.
• Familiarity with King, Snohomish, and Pierce County local rules.
• Motion and mediation experience required.
• Proficient with technology and legal practice management software.
• Collaborative Law and Trial Training required within 2 years of starting.
• Experience with maintaining and recording billable hours.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

• Washington State Bar Association membership.
