Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced landlord-tenant attorney to join its team in Irvine, CA. The role involves handling commercial and mobile home unlawful detainer evictions, potentially through trial, and managing pre-litigation residential and commercial landlord-tenant disputes for property owners and managers. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, capable of building strong client relationships while delivering high-quality legal representation.

Duties

  • Provide legal representation and counsel clients on various scenarios.
  • Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process.
  • Offer legal advice via phone, email, and video conferences.
  • Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices.
  • Litigate unlawful detainer trials in Southern California courts.
  • Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings.
  • Represent the firm internally and externally.
  • Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • J.D. and an active California Bar license.
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
  • General knowledge of landlord-tenant law.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Trial experience preferred.
  • Experience in the rental housing industry preferred.
  • Lexis/Westlaw experience preferred.
  • Experience with case management and/or document management systems preferred.

Education

  • Graduate degree in law.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
