Associate Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 3 or more years of experience for its Kirkland, Washington office. The firm specializes in insurance defense and insurance coverage across various areas, including construction defect litigation, professional malpractice, and personal injury defense.

Duties

• Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective defense strategies.
• Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Washington license required; Oregon license preferred.
• 3+ years' experience in insurance defense law and/or civil litigation.
• Experience in construction defect litigation, professional malpractice, or premises liability preferred.
• Excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage caseload and work independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Washington license required.
• Active Oregon license preferred.
