A law firm seeks a Junior Attorney in Tukwila, WA. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced attorneys and paralegals, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with legal counsel. Duties

  • Conduct client consultations to assess case needs and establish legal strategies.
  • Oversee and mentor legal assistants and manage administrative staff in client-related matters.
  • Develop tailored strategies for each case, guiding clients in gathering required documentation.
  • Research complex immigration law issues and propose innovative solutions.
  • Handle a diverse range of immigration cases, including asylum and humanitarian matters.
  • Prepare for and represent clients in immigration court proceedings.
  • Draft, review, and file briefs, motions, and written pleadings.
  • Provide regular case updates to clients with support staff assistance.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to coordinate case strategies and train support staff.
  • Manage a high caseload effectively, ensuring quality attention to each case.
  • Resolve cases efficiently by collaborating with senior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Draft documents for proceedings and contract negotiations.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Attend court hearings and perform legal research.
  • Keep files organized for accessibility to other attorneys and staff.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S.-based law school.
  • Minimum of 4 years of full-time experience in immigration law as a licensed attorney.
  • Proficiency in legal research software, particularly Lexis and Westlaw.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and research skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines independently.
  • Strong client service orientation, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Admission to practice law in the United States in good standing.
  • References from previous employers verifying expertise and reliability.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA).
