Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Energy and Climate Solutions Tax Associate in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of tax equity transactional experience, particularly in tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback transactions, equipment safe harbor transactions, and tax credit transfer transactions. Experience in sectors such as wind, solar, battery storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, and EV charging is preferred.

Duties

  • Provide counsel in substantive Federal tax credit matters.
  • Offer written advice on tax equity transactions.
  • Collaborate with the energy tax team leader and manage client transactions.
  • Work with project finance practice, including corporate, debt, and securitization input.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of tax equity transactional experience.
  • Experience with tax equity partnership and lease transactions.
  • Background in sectors like wind, solar, and battery storage preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
