Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in Eugene, Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience and will be responsible for handling a wide variety of civil disputes, including business, personal, real property disputes, and trust/probate litigation. The candidate will also work in all stages of litigation, including case assessment, research, discovery, motion practice, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial practice in both state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Provide ethical, practical, and responsive client service throughout litigation processes.
• Resolve a wide variety of civil disputes including business disputes, personal disputes, real property disputes, professional licensing defense, and trust/probate litigation.
• Execute all stages of litigation: case assessment, strategy, research, discovery, motion practice, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial practice.
• Represent clients in state and federal courts, and before state licensing and regulatory agencies.
• Support other practice groups as needed, including transactional work and non-litigation estate administration.
• Collaborate with the firm’s professional staff to maximize value for clients.
• Keep clients informed and supported throughout all stages of their cases.
• Operate with accountability, integrity, and humility.
• Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and self-care.

Requirements:

• Current member in good standing of the Oregon State Bar.
• At least 5 years of litigation experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Capacity to manage a full caseload with mentorship and support as necessary.
• Willingness to integrate into the local professional community.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
