Job Overview

A distinguished law firm is seeking a bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Associate Attorney to join its Deposition Team, representing clients affected by asbestos exposure. This role involves preparing and litigating asbestos disease cases, conducting witness depositions, and traveling extensively to meet clients nationwide. It presents a meaningful opportunity for attorneys who are compassionate, strategic, and driven to advocate for terminally ill clients.

Location

  • Edwardsville, Illinois

Duties

  • Represent clients injured due to asbestos exposure

  • Prepare and manage asbestos-related cases in collaboration with a legal team

  • Conduct client and witness interviews both in person and via phone

  • Travel extensively (up to 80%) across the U.S. for client meetings and depositions

  • Review and analyze Social Security, medical, military, and union records

  • Conduct and summarize fact witness depositions

  • Develop legal strategies and maintain clear, compassionate communication with clients

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of attorney experience; personal injury or asbestos litigation experience preferred

  • Ability to travel frequently within the U.S.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High emotional intelligence and adaptability to clients’ health-related needs

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining team collaboration

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state

  • Licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois preferred

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check

Skills

  • Legal research and writing proficiency

  • Expertise in deposition preparation and case investigation

  • Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook

  • Ability to comprehend and retain industrial and medical information

  • Compassionate client advocacy, especially with terminally ill individuals
