A law firm located in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Associate Attorney. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing clients in labor and employment matters, which includes representing clients in court, deposing witnesses, preparing cases for trial, and defending challenging cases involving various employment-related claims. This role requires a dedicated and experienced attorney with a strong focus on wage and hour class actions, PAGA, FEHA, and more. Strong writing skills and effective communication with the court, clients, and opposing counsel are essential for this position.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment cases, including wage and hour violations, employment discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, and other tort claims.
  • Depose witnesses, including expert witnesses, as appropriate for the level of experience.
  • Prepare cases for trial and assist at trial as appropriate for the level of experience.
  • Keep clients informed of significant developments in litigation through reporting and telephone conferences.
  • Support client development and marketing efforts in collaboration with the partnership.
  • Develop legal skills through in-firm mentoring, in-house training sessions, and other professional development activities.

Requirements:

  • Bar admission in the State of California.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with wage and hour class actions, PAGA, and FEHA.
  • Attorneys with their own book of business are welcome.

Skills:

  • Legal representation in labor and employment cases.
