Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Attorney in Scottsdale, AZ. This role involves providing comprehensive legal oversight and strategic direction for the firm's litigation practice. The position requires a deep understanding of defensive litigation and the ability to manage complex cases from inception through resolution.

Duties

  • Provide strategic legal oversight for all firm litigation.
  • Manage a complex caseload of defensive litigated matters.
  • Ensure strict compliance with state, federal, and regulatory laws.
  • Handle specialized cases, such as deceased borrower matters.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend process modifications.
  • Provide expert legal guidance to operational staff.
  • Formally approve procedural changes for legal soundness.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support department goals.
  • May occasionally work extended hours based on operational needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of active litigation experience.
  • Proven expertise in contested default and banking/mortgage servicing litigation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organizational and case management skills.
  • High proficiency in legal research (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.).

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas.
  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal district courts.
