A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to handle case evaluation, client communication, legal research, drafting legal documents, court representation, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate should possess strong research and writing skills, the ability to work independently, and familiarity with civil litigation matters.

 

Duties:

  • Evaluate cases, provide recommendations, and offer support throughout legal proceedings.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Propound and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft memoranda on various legal issues.
  • Draft complaints, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and defend depositions.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediation sessions, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Demonstrate an interest in going to trial and arbitration.
  • Provide excellent service to clients and maintain professional standards.
  • Utilize software tools like E-Filing systems, Excel, Word, IManage, Outlook, Serengeti Tracker, Time Matters, and PowerPoint for case management.

 

Requirements:

  • In good standing with the Florida State Bar.
  • 1-5 years of legal experience, particularly in complex civil litigation, construction, or personal injury matters.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • General familiarity with courts and legal software systems.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar.
