Job Overview:
A Fort Lauderdale-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with a focus on immigration matters. This role is ideal for a licensed legal professional driven by purpose and compassion, eager to advocate for families and individuals navigating complex immigration systems. The opportunity is fully remote, with support from a mission-driven team that values strategic thinking and empathetic client engagement.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings before USCIS, EOIR, and the BIA

  • Prepare and file petitions, including family-based and humanitarian applications (e.g., VAWA, U Visas)

  • Manage removal defense cases from intake through resolution

  • Collaborate with a legal team to coordinate case strategies

  • Draft legal briefs, client communications, and supporting documentation

  • Monitor legal developments and apply solutions to evolving case challenges

  • Maintain high ethical standards and deliver responsive, respectful client service

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Prior involvement in humanitarian relief cases is a plus

  • Proficient in written and spoken English; additional languages preferred (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese highly valued)

  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and professional maturity in client interactions

  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads with attention to detail and urgency

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities
