Centil advises within the jurisdictions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and is one of the largest law firms in the region. The firm's core team has been established in 2003 and since then has been advising on banking and finance, energy, M&A, and infrastructure projects across the region. Centil also provides technical assistance to local governments, IFIs and other beneficiaries.

Centil began expanding the Tajikistan practice following significant development in the region, particularly in economic and trade terms. Our Dushanbe office has since established itself as an important player within the domestic legal market. Our highly respected team has experience in labour and employment, trade and customs, criminal law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments, commercial transactions, privatisation and mining. Mergers and Acquisitions: The Dushanbe team has significant experience in complex, high-value M&A and private-equity investment transactions in a number of sectors. They have particular expertise in the telecoms and mining sectors, having advised on the acquisitions of most of the mining and telecoms companies in Tajikistan. Corporate / Commercial: The Dushanbe office provides a wide variety of corporate and commercial advice, covering investment structuring, establishing new businesses in the country, obtaining the necessary accreditations and registrations, joint ventures, corporate governance relationships between Tajik and international shareholders, the protection of shareholder rights, corporate strategies within the Tajik market, labour and employment, and competition law. Finance: Our Tajikistan team have worked on almost all of the Islamic finance and aircraft leasing projects in the region, gaining considerable experience in the complex areas of financing structures and working with the relevant Tajik counterparties and regulators.
