The firm's practice consists of a Transaction Group and Litigation Group. Practice areas in the Transaction Group include energy law, real estate and general business matters, with a special emphasis on oil, gas and mineral law, land title matters, acquisitions and divestitures, exploration agreements, joint operating agreement disputes and arbitration. Attorneys in the Transaction Group work daily with well-known oil and gas industry clients on a wide range of matters, and have served as lead counsel in numerous significant transactions with a collective transaction value in excess of $1.5 billion.

The Litigation Group includes attorneys with significant experience in all levels of state and federal courts. Each possesses the knowledge and skills to pursue clients' claims and defenses in the most aggressive and creative manners possible, but without the constraints imposed upon larger "institutional" law firms. Above all, the professionals in the Litigation Group are problem solvers rather than only litigators.

Attorneys in the firm's Litigation Group pursue the client's interests both in and out of the courtroom, applying an extraordinary level of expertise regardless of whether the matter is routine or involves the challenges of a critical bet-the-business matter. Although we are comfortable in the courtroom setting, we understand the vagaries and uncertainty of litigation and that the best chance for success may be found outside the courtroom. Due to our extensive trial experience, we frequently are able to craft the most favorable trial approach based on our knowledge of the jurisdiction involved.
