Furthermore, he has also served as consultant to foreign firms in cases of product liability and breach of contract filed in the United States under Costa Rican law. Moreover he has participated as arbitrator for the International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of the American Chamber of Commerce in civil and commercial cases and disputes against the Estate and between private parties. The Firm has been catalogued as "an experienced, high-quality team." (CHAMBERS & PARTNERS Legal Publishers, Chambers Latin America (Latina America's Leading Lawyers for Business, 2011.) Edgar Odio has served as consultant for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in the area of antitrust law and consumer protection for the analysis of current laws and regulations in such areas in Latin American countries and the proposal of amendments to said set of rules. The Firm has a strong pro bono practice. Pacheco, Odio & Alfaro has participated in the two debt for nature swaps executed between the Government of Costa Rica and the United States Government under the U.S. Tropical Forest Conservation Act (the TFCA). The first swap was signed in 2007 for $26 million, and the firm represented The Nature Conservancy and Conservation International and the second swap was signed in 2010 for $27 million in which the firm acted as counsel for The Nature Conservancy. Additionally the Firm advised The Nature Conservancy and The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation on setting up a fund together with The Linden Trust to finance the protected areas of Costa Rica perpetually. This project lead to the incorporation of the Costa Rica Forever Association ("Asociacion Costa Rica Por Siempre), in which Mario Pacheco Jr. currently participates as Comptroller. **
