Waterfront Solicitors LLP was established in 2002 to provide an alternative option to businesses looking for legal advice.

Our ethos is simple: "City quality" advice without "City firm" costs. Our lawyers offer a full range of legal services in our areas of expertise: information technology law, intellectual property law, commercial law, employment law and corporate law. We deal with both contentious work and non-contentious work.

Our costs are competitive

We have a flexible approach to pricing. We don't see every phone call or conversation as an opportunity to submit another invoice. We think it is more important to build our relationship and understand your business so that we can add real value and help you achieve your goals.

We offer a free initial consultation to any new client who wishes to explore how we can help. For the projects on which you instruct us, we will listen to your requirements regarding legal budget, and do our best to accommodate these. For example, where it is workable to do so, we can usually agree to provide our services on a fixed-price basis.

When advice on an hourly basis is more appropriate (such as a court case with an uncertain time span and outcome), our services are provided at regional law firm rates.

Our lawyers are pragmatic

We recognise that legal services are there to support our clients' business objectives. We take time to understand our clients' needs before starting any work. We strive to be "problem solvers" not "problem creators" or "sales prevention officers"! Many of the lawyers in our team have worked as in-house lawyers, whether for companies, public sector, or charitable organisations, and we are aware of the pressures faced by our clients. Our team is focused on being as different as possible from the image of a specialist sitting in an ivory tower divorced from the real world, issuing pages of unhelpful advice with invoices to match.

Our approach is personable

We are aware that lawyers sometimes have a bad name ? they can be too formal, abrasive, hard-headed, aggressive, slow, stuffy, dull or simply just too painful to deal with. We want to strike the right balance: driven and tough when we are protecting your interests, and capable of getting the best results, but also strong on our inter-personal skills. We aim for the highest levels of customer service but we want you to be relaxed in our company, not stressed.
