The law firm was originally founded in the 1940s by Benjamin Gargill, a former Justice of the Massachusetts District Court and Assistant Attorney General under Massachusetts Attorney General Edward W. Brooke III. The firm was renamed Rudolph Friedmann LLP ("RF") in 2002. RF has been located in Boston's Financial District at 92 State Street since 1985.
