Robert J. Bernstein specializes in copyright and trademark counseling and litigation. Mr. Bernstein has practiced intellectual property law and litigation for 35 years. He also has served as a mediator and is able to employ alternative dispute resolution techniques to avoid or curtail litigation where possible.

Mr. Bernstein is a graduate of Princeton University, cum laude, and the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude. He has served as the President of The Copyright Society of the U.S.A.; as Chairman of the Copyright Law Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA); and as Secretary of the AIPLA and a member of its Board of Directors. He is a frequent author and lecturer on copyright law, and has been co-author of the New York Law Journal Copyright Law Column for over 15 years.

Prior to establishing his own firm, Mr. Bernstein was a partner at the New York law firm of Cowan Liebowitz & Latman for over 20 years and a litigation associate at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson. From 1975 to 1976 he served as law clerk to the Honorable Richard P. Matsch of the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

Mr. Bernstein has extensive experience representing clients in all aspects of the entertainment and media industries, including music, movies, television, publishing, advertising, sports and trading cards, licensing, software, and toys and games.
