Ms. Forstman was previously selected for the Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers in the field of Civil Trial Practice based on her AV Preeminent® Rating, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. Ms. Forstman lectures and publishes nationally and regionally on topics related to her roles as an attorney and a champion of nonprofits. She obtained her B.A. in 1987 from Auburn University in Pre-Law and Russian and her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1990 where she was a member of the Bench and Bar Honor Society and Vice-Chairperson of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board. She is admitted to practice law in Alabama and Tennessee, and handles a vast array of tort claims on behalf of individuals and small businesses. She is Founding Chair of the Women's Caucus of the Alabama Association for Justice, founded in 2002, served two terms on the Board of the Alabama State Bar Women's Section, and is a Past Chair of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association. Ms. Forstman is a Past President of the Junior League of Birmingham, a Past President of Network Birmingham, President of Leadership Vestavia Hills (Class of 2019), Members Council Representative of Leadership Birmingham (Class of 2003), and Past Chair of the Trustees and Foundation Board of Canterbury United Methodist Church
