The Cochran Law Firm is an aggressive results-oriented trial law firm. Our attorneys have been representing clients for over forty years. We are known for being on the cutting edge of trial law.
We represent individuals who have been injured and handle wrongful death actions for the loved ones of people killed. We have extensive experience with cases involving traumatic brain injuries, birth trauma, (including cerebral palsy), spinal cord injuries, and other incidents of negligence and medical malpractice, as well matters resulting from dangerous and defective products.
We represent workers with claims under federal maritime laws, such as the Jones Act and the Longshore/Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. We assist military personnel, veterans, and their families with their FTCA claims against the United States for medical negligence at military and VA hospitals.
The Cochran Law Firm is also actively involved in criminal defense, business litigation, as well as oil and gas, real estate, construction litigation, and a wide variety of other adversarial matters.
Our History
Les Cochran began his career as a lawyer in September of 1960. Les quickly earned a reputation as a tenacious trial lawyer applying skill and dedication to serve the needs of his clients. He also became known for taking controversial cases other firms would not touch. In 1981, Les incorporated his practice under the name "Les Cochran, A Professional Corporation."
Les is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also Board Certified in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Les is rated "AV" by the Martindale-Hubbell lawyer rating system. He is also a former Army JAG officer with the retired rank of Lt. Colonel.
Our Present
Today "Les Cochran, A Professional Corporation" is known as "The Cochran Law Firm, A Professional Corporation of Trial Lawyers." Les is the senior shareholder. The Cochran Law Firm continues as a law firm that zealously advocates for individuals and businesses that need help.
At The Cochran Law Firm, we apply skillful interpretation of the law to each and every case we take. In each area of our practice, we have sought and achieved remedies others have failed to explore. We have recovered for individuals and families devastated by injuries suffered in accidents that other lawyers felt did not merit recovery. We have recovered for injured workers who did not know their employers and other third parties were responsible for their misfortune. We have recovered for small businesses that suffered economic losses from breached contracts or unfair businesses practices. We have recovered for many others who needed protection and compensation under the law.
Our lawyers have the knowledge, resources, skill, experience, energy and drive to take a case to the courthouse. We are known for being active rather than reactive. We are trial lawyers. That is our profession. From the moment we accept a new client, our efforts focus on preparing the case for trial. We do this for two reasons. First, we know that this will allow us to be completely ready when it is time to go to trial. Second, we know that if the opposition seeks settlement, they will do so on terms most favorable to our client if it recognizes that we are ready to go to trial and intend to win.
