Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney specializing in litigation for its Birmingham, AL office. The role involves managing an independent caseload, including civil cases and title curative matters, with potential eviction cases. Court appearances are expected, requiring high levels of preparation and competency. The position may be fully remote or hybrid, depending on location.

Duties

• Conduct initial intake and analysis on files and generate strategy and budget within 24 hours.
• Draft civil litigation documents, including discovery and dispositive motions.
• Review chain of title, pleadings, and mortgage servicing documents promptly.
• Make court appearances across Alabama and provide same-day client updates.
• Write, review, and edit reports and correspondence for compliance purposes.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Membership in the State Bar of Alabama; admission in other states is a plus.
• Experience in default, mortgages, and/or creditors' rights is advantageous.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Membership in the State Bar of Alabama.
